Nepal Library Association Hosted 44th Annual General Meeting

Kathmandu, Poush 6, 2081 (Saturday) – The 44th Annual General Meeting of the Nepal Library Association (NLA) was held at Rajdhani Model College, Baneshwor. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest and former  president of NLA, Mr. Bhola Kumar Shrestha, who lit the panas to formally commence the program.

The meeting was chaired by NLA President Mr. Pushpa Raj Subedi, with Mr. K.P. Pant, Principal of Rajdhani Model College, as the special guest, Mr. Yadhav Chandra Niroula, Chief  of Kaiser Library, Mr. Prem Raj Adhikari, Under Secretary from Ministry of Education, Mr. Arun Kumar Rai, Under Secretary from Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and Mrs. Sita Sharma representing  Tribhuvan University Central Library. The chief of Kaiser Library, Mr. Yadhav Chandra Niroula, delivered a congratulatory speech on the occasion, while NLA vice-president Mr. Surendra Prasad Duwal welcomed the attendees with an opening address. Likewise, the General Secretary  of the association, Mr. Sanjib Kumar Choudhary presented a detailed progress report and shared future plans for the association, emphasizing its commitment to advancing library services in Nepal. Additionally, Ms. Sakuntala Dhungana provided a financial report for the fiscal year 2080/81, highlighting the organization’s financial standing. The event was successfully hosted by Mrs. Pratichhya Shakya and Mrs. Pooja Sharma.

The Annual General Meeting concluded with active participation from the attendees, reaffirming the association’s dedication to fostering the growth of libraries and information services in Nepal.
